Dual Diagnosis Program
The staff of HealthCare Connection recognize the importance of both evaluating and properly treating individuals suffering from co-existing or comorbid psychiatric
disorders. Full psychiatric examinations are available and include routine mental
health and neuropsychological tests. Our areas of specific expertise include:
- Affective and Anxiety Disorders
- Personality Disorders
- Eating Disorders
HCC has established affiliations with many local inpatient psychiatric units for those times when stabilization is necessary. Patients identified with a dual diagnosis receive routine psychiatric visits as well as medication monitoring. All staff therapists are well versed in the development of appropriate treatment planning to facilitate acceptance of dual diagnosis and its impact on the ability to maintain abstinence. Treatment planning may include attendance at specialty support group meetings and living situations are closely monitored. Impaired professionals returning to practice are closely monitored. Contracts with monitoring agencies include documented psychiatric follow-up and commitments to compliance with medication recommendations during Aftercare.
